pyarrow.compute.ascii_trim

pyarrow.compute.ascii_trim(strings, /, characters, *, options=None, memory_pool=None)

Trim leading and trailing characters.

For each string in strings, remove any leading or trailing characters from the characters option (as given in TrimOptions). Null values emit null. Both the strings and the characters are interpreted as ASCII; to trim non-ASCII characters, use utf8_trim.

Parameters:

stringsArray-like or scalar-like

Argument to compute function.

charactersstr

Individual characters to be trimmed from the string.

optionspyarrow.compute.TrimOptions, optional

Alternative way of passing options.

memory_poolpyarrow.MemoryPool, optional

If not passed, will allocate memory from the default memory pool.
